Full P&L responsibility for Indian subsidiary of Missionpharma. Managing two sites in India: 1) Packaging site and distribution center in Kandla, 2) Shared service center in Ahmedabad supporting Missionpharma Group global business activities. Operations consisted of approximately 250 associates across both sites in Gujarat.

Leadership of External Supply Operations for Novartis Pharma in Asia-Pacific based in Basel (Switzerland). Directing cross-functional Supplier Relationship Teams (SRTs) responsible for all aspects of external manufacturing and packaging for Novartis Pharma. The operation consists of approximately 40 associates based in India, China and Japan with oversight of around 35 external manufacturing sites including a number of in-license manufacturers.

Global responsibility for Supply Chain including Sourcing, Procurement, Warehousing, Manufacturing / Operations, Logistics & Distribution and Customer Service. * Results: * Contribution to top and bottom line growth through strategic business development and improved * operational efficiencies * Optimization of workflows and process re-design using LEAN principles * Global implementation of new ERP system on-time, on-budget and on-quality * Significant cost reductions based on offshoring of SCM operations to India * Improvement of on-time delivery performance and other supply chain metrics leading to improved customer satisfaction * Improved supply chain visibility using GPS technology

* Management of Procurement and Logistics functions and chair of Operational Management Team. * Results: * Implemented International Procurement Office in Shanghai (China) and Ahmedabad (India) * Successfully conducted tender for international freight forwarding resulting in significant savings on freight spend as well as increased cost transparency and shipment visibility * Successful implementation of contract life cycle management (CLM) system to mitigate supplier related risk

I spearheaded offshoring by establishing back-office functions in India and sustained quality while ramping up productivity to cope with increased activity demands. Cut inventory levels, and redesigned and implemented new IT-based work processes. I also negotiated contracts with global suppliers, increased category savings, and improved supplier performance via a systematic approach to monitoring and evaluation including performance-based contracting.

I stamped my mark on this role by improving customer service levels, accelerating the speed of delivery and reducing costs. I was praised also, for improving visibility on parcel shipments, generating cost savings, and streamlining product returns. I implemented distribution agreements with strategically important principals, reduced freight and product spend while increasing company profits, and introduced a new process that expedited product claim handling.
