About
I intend to support industry and institutions with design management aligned to making their performance sustainable. I have six plus years of experience researching into design and sustainability and two plus years of Industrial Design and related Engineering work experience with John Deere. I am an ISSP Certified Sustainability Associate conversant with DJSI (RobecoSam) methodology; WBCSD, IISD Guidelines, OHCHR Corporate Responsibility Guidelines; GRI G3.1 (Certification from ULDQS) and G4 Sustainability Performance Reporting Framework; Lifecycle Assessment; and various Design Principles for Environment and Sustainability

If 'Design' is the most important phase where the consequences of manufacture, distribution, use and ref-use of the product could be controlled, what with and how should the process of 'Design' be informed? As the consequences of industrial activity affect climate and resource availability for people existing and of generations to come, how should we 'Design' to retain opportunity enough for all to realise their rights for a sustained development? As transparency, accountability and responsibility requirements are slowly being mandated, businesses and governance require the know-how to align their interests with global goals for sustaining development for humanity. They need pragmatic Design know-how to intervene into the socio-political nature of sustainability challenges. I intend to support industry/institutions with this knowledge informing their value chain, policy and sustainable reporting requirements.

sustainability
Design is central to leading transitions to sustainable development, right from conceiving alternate paradigm for development that is people-centric, to redesigning existing institutions and designing new ones aligned to and avoiding the mistakes of previous ones. Situating design in the context of human development along with the methods to inform design of appropriate interventions are found lacking in literature. My research attempts to fill this knowledge gap.

If the temperature of rejection matters for thermal efficiency of engines, how best to reject heat? My bachelors project improved understanding of combined modes of heat transfer for Al alloy fins.

Artefacts are, as they are, because we intended them to be so. And so are the consequences of their manufacture to climate and resources. We have woken up to this fact, albeit lately. Nevertheless to steward ourselves towards more secure futures we need to redesign how we consume resources. To start with essential resources, we need to re-design how we consume water and dispose waste. My master's project addressed the surmounting issue of urban water-supply scarcity, predominantly innovating for culling its use for transporting and treating house-hold organic waste. This involved designing and functional prototyping.
