Experience

editor, 'american cannibal'
acme pictures
In 2005, Suki Hawley edited two films for other directors. "American Cannibal," directed by Perry Grebin and Michael Nigro, is meta-meta theater; it's directed reality about the reality of the biz behind reality shows. Television figures such as "The Daily Show" co-creator Lizz Winstead are interviewed: "If the lowest common denominator was a muscle, it could kick the shit out of everything else."

director and editor, 'radiation'
radiation pictures

director and editor, 'half-cocked'
bullhorn productions
Suki wrote, directed and edited the indie-rock road movie, Half-Cocked, with partner Michael Galinsky.

editor, 'mardi gras: made in china'
sundancetv
Early in 2005, Suki Hawley was enlisted to re-edit the film "Mardi Gras: Made in China," directed by David Redmon. The film follows the bead trail to find out who makes Mardi Gras beads and at what cost.

director and editor, 'miami manhunt'
a&e television
A gritty, video-shot documentary, "Miami Manhunt" plays like a smart cross between "CSI: Miami" and the spate of crime-oriented reality television programs permeating the airwaves. But the compelling story line, involving the notorious case of a serial rapist in Miami, and the filmmakers' skill at examining the subject from various viewpoints, gives it an original quality that elevates the film to a whole new level.

director and editor, 'horns and halos'
cinemax
In 1999, Suki Hawley and partner Michael Galinsky embarked on their first documentary production. The resulting "Horns and Halos" - about a controversial writer and the young publisher of a discredited bio of GW Bush - is neither a partisan attack on the president nor straight-faced reportage, but a thoughtful portrait of a screwed-up man who dares to mess with some powerful people, seen through the eyes of the idealistic kid who chooses to champion his ultimately losing cause.

director and editor, 'the battle for brooklyn'
rumur inc
Currently in post-production on a feature-length documentary about the struggle against a proposed basketball arena (and 16 skyscrapers) in the heart of Brooklyn. Since 2002, Hawley/Galinsky have completed two other documentary features: "Horns and Halos" (Cinemax) and "Miami Manhunt" (A&E).
