Medical Transcriptionist – Medical Records Department

* A 501(c)(3) non profit organization whose mission is to empower and motivate the homeless and near homeless by providing an avenue to self-sufficiency by making support services freely available * life skills, basic computer skills, advancement of reading and writing, resume and job placement assistance * as well as providing clothing, food, basic life necessities * for adults who find themselves in crisis in our community * while sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

* Accurate and timely transcription of detailed medical consultations generated by the neuropsychiatrist * and staff therapists. * Accomplished accelerated document completion time, improved from three days to 24 hours. * Worked with the staff neuropsychiatrist and staff therapists to ensure precise chart completion in * accordance with governmental guidelines, maintaining strict patient confidentiality. * Started providing medical transcription as an Independent Contractor, working from my home, for this * facility in September 1998.

* Exclusively responsible for the accurate, professional, and timely transcription of all documents * generated by the Medical Staff. * Directly involved in research and anticipated implementation of upgraded computerized procedures. * Started providing medical transcription as an Independent Contractor, working from my home, for this * facility in September 1995.

* Responsible for all transcription of diagnostic transcripts within the Medical Imaging Department, * including, but not limited to, plain film x-ray studies, CT, MRI, angiogram, mammogram, ultrasound * including ultrasound guided biopsies), nuclear medicine. Additional transcription responsibilities * included: employee performance evaluations, departmental policies and procedures. * Organized monthly Clinical Pathological Conferences for physicians' continuing medical education * credits. Worked closely with Michigan State University. * Improved completion time of diagnostic transcripts from four days to 24 hours. * Assisted in the development, preparation, and review of surveys within the medical community. * Effectively prioritized assignment completion.
