I am a professor of history at Concordia University where I co-founded the Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling (storytelling.concordia.ca ). I currently lead the "Deindustrialization and the Politics of Our Time" (DePOT) research project which is examining the long-term impact of industrial closures on working-class communities across Europe and North America as well as around the world.

My one legacy with the GSA, besides helping with the organization of a TA union, was the creation of the "Mug of Knowledge" ritual where graduating MA and PhD students would drink a beverage of their choice from the Mug (a legendary pewter goblet we 'uncovered' in the basement, etc, etc) after they defended and have their photo taken. Thousands have done so.
