After immigrating from South Africa and starting out selling rubber stamps from our basement in 1978 - nearly 50 years later, that startup is now one of Ontario's leading independent workplace suppliers. I've had the privilege of continuing what they built, and expanding it - adding Baldwin School Supply, Brant Basics, and Schoolhouse Products Canada along the way. We serve everyone from school boards and federal government to small businesses, and we treat them all the same. Job Responsibilities: This was a downtown retail environment. As an employee of Sam's, it was our responsibility to make sure clients left the store spending money on enjoyable music. Most clients knew what they wanted, but some clients said "what is good jazz music" . It was also our responsibility to make sure the store was clean, organized and most importantly, the cash balanced at day end :) Working at Sam's, in my late teens, early 20's, I was lucky enough to meet all the hit music bands while they did signature sessions in our store. This was a great job. Maybe one day Sam's will re-emerge.
