Managing all aspects of nightshift production ranging from fabrication/welding to CNC machining and laser cutting. Interviewing and appointing new team members and taking responsibility for site security, health and safety, first aid etc etc.

Sub-contract machinist working exclusively on oil and gas industry products using difficult to machine materials such as 718 Inconel and Monel K500. Other widely used materials included Beryllium Copper, Titanium and 17/4 PH stainless steel. My responsiblities included making F.A.I.R.'s, continuous inspection and sample plans. Extensive use of ceramic inserts and inspection utilising the gage-maker system. liaising and communication with other departments.

Manufacturing prototypes for the A380 Airbus along side new and replacement components for the aerospace industry. Machining exotic alloys as well as traditional carbon steels and aluminium components. One offs to batches in excess of 200. Running multiple machines in tandem to maximise output.

Trainee Maintenance Engineer. Including day release to Norfolk College Of Arts And Technology. Initially duties included weekly routine checks of lubricant levels on all production machines, pumps and compressors. Also draining of all receivers and chemical water treatment of the cooling systems. Progressed to assisting with breakdowns and the repair or manufacture of new parts. Spent one year in research and development where I was encouraged to problem solve, design and manufacture in conjunction with machine operators and senior engineers.
