Liaising with Clients, architects and designers, planners, building control officers and clients/clients representatives. Provide support and tasking direction to staff and sub-contractors during all works including working drawings. Ensuring projects run well and within budget during their course and complete on time with a satisfied client on handover.

Ensuring materials are purchased on time to co inside with the site program, and purchased on budget. To work with key suppliers setting up contract spot buys. Forecasting forward requirements of material thought out contract. To deal with sub contractor’s talk though drawings setting out drawings ensuring contractor fully understands drawings and has clear vision of the quality of workmanship expected by the business. To value engineer bespoke metalwork with setter outs and sub contractors to ensure the architects requirements are met, ensuring material specified are fit for purpose. To work as the business’s quality control, ensuring material and products specified are fit for purpose and will stand the test of time in a commercial environment. Purchasing of joinery and building materials, fixings, power tools and decorative finishes and paints and lacquers, consumables and PPE. Work with suppliers to negotiate rebate deals.

Responsibility To manage the Timber side of the Timber and Joinery category. Support buyer in management of Timber side of the Timber and Joinery category. Day to Day Duties: Set the vision and create seasonal trend briefs for suppliers. Conduct weekly competitor reviews to understand our positioning and opportunities within the market in trade and retail. Work to engage key areas of business to drive my categories agenda: store operations, marketing, merchandising and finance. Work with suppliers to plan (and negotiate associated support) for the annual promotional plan.

To take control of goods inwards ensuring all materials arrive on time and chasing up any order discrepancies. Placing orders for all stock material require within factory. Taking ownership of lower value contracts placing all orders. Sending out sub contract enquires.
