Utilize lean manufacturing principles to meet production goals while maintaining a safe work environment.

Power Steering provides technical, project, and team leadership to support and manage team members and projects for control and model development, as well as vehicle and system testing activities. The role mentors engineers for best practices, industry standards, meeting customer requirements, and solving complex engineering problems, defines employee and team goals and objectives, employee development plans, and performs regular performance reviews for team members. The position hires/trains new engineers, supports annual strategic planning and budgeting processes, and provides regular updates to senior management of project progress and problems. Additionally, proposes, and manages development projects, balances the workload among multiple projects, and works collaboratively with other teams and departments to secure shared resources.

Coordinate production in the specific area to meet required schedules. Controlling 5M changes- Investigate problems/processes; notify affected departments and implement appropriate action as needed. Troubleshoot and fix machine problems. Daily start up meeting with associates to communicate expectation and strategy. Monitor production start-up for any abnormal conditions and take appropriate action when needed. Verify quality of your product and associates work. Weighs and samples development and commercial manufacturing batches in accordance with applicable SOPs. Sets up, operates, breaks down and cleans equipment to be used in manufacturing activities in accordance with SOPs and equipment specifications. Performs scheduled manufacturing activities in accordance with approved batch records. Performs appropriate in-process and verification tests of manufactured products during the manufacturing process. Provides appropriate documentation of manufacturing processes and test results including maintaining and reconciling equipment and room use log books, batch records, and inventory records in accordance with SOPs. Performs appropriate cleaning of equipment and the facility in accordance with SOPs and cGMP procedures. Troubleshoots equipment during the manufacturing process. Performs departmental training on equipment and processes. Performs other duties as assigned.
