- Managing Innovation portfolio for Bechtel Infrastructure - Leading digital transformation initiative within Bechtel Infrastructure

I established my own construction industry focused consultancy business where I led the design and development of a number of ground breaking prototype products for a variety of clients: • First of a kind web-based application enabling BIM models changes to be tracked on the Ethereum blockchain • Smart contracts platform that facilitates payments on Hyperledger Fabric blockchain • Supply chain solution to track provenance of goods on IOTA blockchain • Health & Safety platform that uses telemetry data from wearable devices and sensors to monitor worker site safety • IoT solution for monitoring performance of lighting networks that links to an automated smart contracts payment platform • SAAS chatbot with advanced natural language processing that helps estate agent customers find their perfect home I am also helping to drive adoption of Web3 in construction by being an active member of the 'Digital Construction Workstream' for the Construction Blockchain Consortium (CBC). My specific contributions for the CBC have included writing a number of case studies, speaking at public events, participating in various hackathons and peer reviewing blockchain white papers.

Dramatically improved software delivery at Bechtel by established the first agile scrum delivery team in the EAMS region. Successfully delivered a number of critical internally-developed production releases using agile scrum. I coordinated with internal and external stakeholders to understand product value and business objectives, managed the product roadmap and vision, and worked closely with the product engineering team to oversee delivery.

I was a key contributor in establishing the 'Virtual Project Delivery’ team for the EMEA region. The team was charged with reimagining the delivery of infrastructure projects through digital transformation. My achievements included: • Hiring a strong team of technically minded domain experts that were capable of driving change in the organisation • Designed and rolling-out critical digital transformation processes and marketing campaign called 'Delivery Reimagined’ • Rolling-out these digital transformation processes and procedures on a number of major projects, including London City Airport and Gatwick Airport • Conducting and overseeing market and competitor research to identify priorities for digital innovation • Working closely with, and contributing to, Bechtel’s ‘Future Fund' which allocated $50M of funds to innovation ideas

I had an exciting and challenging project based role on Europe's largest infrastructure project. My role combined a BIM Project Information Manager with an Innovation lead. My achievements included: • Designed and implemented BIM standards, procedures and processes that were used by thousands of contractors. Managed a client team that reviewed and accepted BIM submission by contractors across the whole project • Created the ‘BIM in Delivery Working Group’ that advanced BIM innovation implementation on project. This successful initiative delivered over 30 BIM innovation improvements to the project • Founding team member of the Crossrail ‘Innovat18’ programme. Personally led deployment of a number of successful innovations including use of BIM models on site, deployment of iPads and apps, use of Augmented Reality and IoT In my part-time I demonstrated my commitment to advancing innovation in construction by serving as ICE Digital Panel member, Construction Chairman for Construction Opportunities for Mobile IT (COMIT), and i3P innovation leadership group

I was responsible for setting up the GIS (Geographical Information Systems) department for our client; Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC). I selected and implemented an ESRI ArcGIS 9.2 system, including web interface, then hired and ran a 6 person GIS team. The software, processes and procedures I implemented were recognised with an "Excellence in Implementation Award" at at large regional GIS conference (GISWORXS 2008).

I worked as an Information Technology Analyst working on the 3G telecoms roll-out project for Cingular Wireless. I travelled extensively and worked out of a number of cities in the US. I was responsible for developing a number of bespoke IT solutions and conducting data analysis to assist the projects network planning team. During this period I started to use Six Sigma and one of the products I delivered known as the 'Virtual Survey Tool' received a number of awards. (see Honours & Awards section)

Completed 2 year Bechtel Graduate program and carried out a number of corporate and project roles within telecommunications (project: Vodafone 3G rollout on railways), rail (project: High Speed 1) and power (project: Tengiz Train 5).

I was part of a team of industry professionals setting direction for digital construction within the ICE. Activities included reviewing and writing papers / reports, supporting organisation of ICE events relating to BIM and digital construction, deciding on focus areas for digital construction within the ICE. Previously known as the Information Systems Panel.
