Non-surgical treatment of patients with spine-related disorders as well as other musculoskeletal complaints through the use of manipulative/manual therapies, rehabilitative techniques, and patient education on pain, exercise, and preventative strategies.

Provide tours to prospective/accepted students and act as a representative for NYCC during Open House events and new student orientation programs.

PSP's function as primary-contact providers for patients with Spine Related Disorders. This involves responsibility for managing most patients without the need for special tests or specialist referrals. It also involves identifying a minority of patients who require further diagnostic evaluations (X-ray, MRI, CT, EMG) or special interventions (injections, surgery). PSP's serve as inter-professional care coordinators, referring patients to appropriate tests or specialty services, and following up after referrals to continually guide patients toward resolution of Spine Related Disorders. PSPs ideally function as a front-line provider in an interdisciplinary spine program, managing most patients without need for referral and coordinating care of those who require other services. PSP's maximize efficiency, ensuring that specialists/surgeons only see patients most appropriate for their skillset. This maximizes clinical outcomes, minimizes cost, and ensures effective conservative management.
