Staff nurse on a 26 bed inpatient telemetry ward. Utilized the nursing process for planning, coordinating and evaluating patient outcomes in response to care. Routinely functions as Charge Nurse, supervising eight to ten professionals and three to four paraprofessionals, including military, civil service, and contract health care staff members. Participates in unit level teaching, discharge planning, performance improvement and nursing research activities.

Worked with the Office of Admissions to provide information about the University, programs, campus life, and the Pittsburgh area to prospective students. Gave tours of the University.

Staff Nurse in an eight bed community hospital Emergency Room. Provides age specific nursing care and treatment to a wide variety of critically/acutely ill patients and implements the nursing process in accordance with professional standards. Responsible for coordinating care with ED multidisciplinary team while performing clinical duties in the emergency department. Plans and initiates patient/family teaching providing key information to promote active participation in their healthcare. Participates in unit performance improvement, staff development, and continuing education. Functions as Charge nurse responsible for 4-6 Staff members.
