Hardware Engineer @ AnfaEngineering

About

I began my career in the Flex R&D Medical team as an intern, where I worked on real medical hardware projects and completed both my Bachelor’s and Master’s theses. This experience laid the foundation for my growth into a Hardware Development Engineer contributing to devices that improved the lives of thousands of patients. Throughout my journey, I worked across electronic design, hardware testing, cost optimization (VAVE), troubleshooting, and hardware validation for a wide range of medical products. I was driven by the challenge of transforming complex engineering problems into simple, reliable, and scalable solutions. I enjoyed collaborating with multidisciplinary and international teams, ensuring technical excellence while supporting product quality and customer needs. For me, hardware engineering represented the perfect blend of creativity, precision, and meaningful real-world impact.

Hardware Engineer working on the development of medical devices such as drug delivery systems, insulin pens, blood glucose meters, autoinjectors, and imaging equipment. I design hardware, solve complex technical problems, support new product launches, and worked on cost-reduction initiatives. Key achievements & responsibilities: * Worked on a major VAVE project for a mammograph system, achieving 25% cost reduction through PCB/function merging, redesign for manufacturability, and component optimization (ICs, IGBTs, motors, power supplies). * Created the Troubleshooting Guide for a new device entering market launch, helping field engineers diagnose hardware/software issues efficiently. * Led customer complaint investigations, identifying root causes (Ishikawa, structured problem-solving) and communicating directly with customers. * Performed bring-up & Electrical Verification (EV) for early-phase hardware, ensuring correct functionality and compliance with requirements. * Conducted risk assessments and DFMEAs, driving design improvements early in development. * Worked extensively with battery-powered devices: charge/discharge (CV, CC, CP), battery analysis, and power budget validation. * Proposed validated component alternatives during global shortages to ensure continuity of supply. * Supported production teams, collaborated with Firmware, Mechanical, Quality, and ATE teams, and mentored new colleagues. * Skilled with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, battery testers, Cadence OrCAD 17.4, LTspice.

During my internship in the R&D Medical division, I supported hardware development activities for medical devices while completing both my bachelor’s and master’s degree projects. This role gave me hands-on experience with design, testing, documentation, and early-phase validation. Key responsibilities & achievements: * Assisted hardware engineers in development projects, performing BOM analyses, comparison reports, block-diagram reviews, and early bring-up / EV (Electrical Verification) tests. * Developed my Bachelor’s project, an electronic system that simulates an invasive glucometer and sends glucose values via Bluetooth. * Designed the schematic, BOM, power budget, and PCB. * Created Gerber files and delivered a fully functional prototype. * Completed my Master’s project focused on improving wireless inductive charging efficiency in low-power applications by identifying and validating technical optimization methods. * Gained practical experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and battery testers, as well as CAD/design tools (OrCAD 17.4, LTspice). * Supported senior engineers with documentation, testing, and technical investigations across multiple ongoing medical device projects.
