Final project: MULTICHANNEL HD-SDI DIGITAL VIDEO SIGNAL CONVERTER The final project provides a summary of theoretical background required for a successful design of a product with FPGA and multi-gigabit serial interfaces. Main topics covered in the theoretical part are principles of encoding, transmission and propagation of high-speed digital signals in real-life circuit boards. The subsequent practical part of the project describes a design of a commercial product: Cost optimised 6-channel 3G HD-SDI video signal converter for transmission of digital video signals over a 10-Gigabit Ethernet network. Included are detailed examples of circuit design - e.g. key peripherals, PDN, CDN and support circuits. Final part of the project is describing testing of selected interfaces, measurements and their comparison with simulations. Approximately 500 units of the original design were built and delivered.

Final project: ATMOSPHERIC CORRECTION UNIT FOR LASER INTERFEROMETER The final project describes design of a complete, FPGA-based signal processing platform and digitiser for analog output signals of homodyne laser interferometer. The unit, complementing base laser interferometer, is designed to enable measurements of displacements with nanometer resolution, with the added capability of suppressing drift of a refractive index of air in the observed space. Corrections of refractive index of air are calculated from changes of measured parameters of ambient air (temperature, pressure, humidity). I have received multiple awards for this project - at university level, national and international.
