I work at the Albany One Stop Career Center in assisting people with disabilities with their employment goals. The main focus is job placement for individuals who are SSI and/or SSDI beneficiaries through the Ticket to Work program. The purpose of TTW is to help beneficiaries increase independence and self-sufficiency through working so they are able to come off of their government benefits. In addition to job placement, I am a Community Work Incentive Coordinator. As a CWIC I am certified to provide the benefits counseling necessary for the beneficiaries to have the knowledge needed to make informed choices about working and the effects on their benefits. Another aspect of this position is that I work with any individual with a disability to refer them to the most appropriate resources in the comunity for which they have a need (whether it be vocational, housing, mental health, substance abuse, etc.).

Responsible for the process of admitting and discharging adolescents to the residential substance abuse facility. Spoke with referral sources and family members to identify needs of each adolescent. Requested approval from health insurance agencies for treatment. Facilitated groups with 10-20 adolescents. Maintained small caseload of clients to offer counseling. Participated in staff meetings to collaborate with others on progress and needs of each adolescent.

Grant position where I served as Program Coordinator for the RAIL program at Albany County Probation. Conducted mental health assessments on all new female Probationers and others as needed. Determined services needed for Probationers in order to increase the likelihood of a successful probation term. (i.e. mental health, substance abuse, child care, etc.). Assisted Probationers in linking to recommended services and monitored follow through. Provided crisis intervention as needed. Served as the point of contact for all Probation Officers in regards to Probationers' mental health issues/concerns.

Provided one-on-one and group counseling to individuals living with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Assisted clients in choosing, entering, and maintaining new environments in which to live, learn, work, and/or socialize. Provided assistance to clients in linking with other services in the community which increased the probability of succeeding at set goals. Maintained regular contact with other community providers and family members in order to coordinate services. Completed several different type of monthly and yearly reports while adhering to state and federal guidelines (i.e. Medicaid, OMH, etc.) Participated in several inter and intra-agency meetings.
