I’m a passionate coder who does cooking. I make cuisines with codes. I work on database internals and storage systems, where performance is measured, assumptions are punished, and production is remarkably honest. At Oracle, I build and maintain internal systems that combine databases with GenAI—largely to ensure that failures explain themselves before engineers are forced to. My interests include database internals, storage systems, and applied GenAI. I have a particular fondness for problems that behave well in theory and badly in practice. I prefer systems that are boring in production, loud in diagnostics, and difficult to misinterpret.
