Ten years ago, I interned at Massachusetts General Hospital’s radiology department, where I saw how doctors used technology to detect tumors invisible to the human eye. Since then, my goal has been to use Computer Science to improve lives. I’m a product-focused Fullstack and Mobile Software Engineer with startup and enterprise experience who is passionate about building user friendly applications with robust backends. In the past few years, I’ve focused on creating effective UIs for a diverse set of users, and learned how to integrate user feedback and tailor solutions to the user. With this attitude and my enthusiasm to learn new things quickly, I have made small differences in many large industries such as healthcare, finance, and more. I am always open and excited to learn about new technologies, industries, and people. My current technical competencies include software such as React, Python, Java, React Native, Expo, and GraphQL, and I continue to learn more everyday. As of now, I have had many opportunities to prove my passion and abilities. For example, during my time at Bose, I created a template of React Components that allowed anyone without coding experience to build a website hosted on Bose’s cloud with Bose styling in under 5 minutes. I am able to communicate the gist of my products in simple terms to highlight their core value. I can communicate technology to non-technical people from 5-year olds to C-suite members, mainly because I take time and have the patience and courage to understand and explain key concepts. Performing stand-up comedy is the most joyous example of my strong ability to understand people and communicate effectively and bravely. In 2016, during my Freshman year at the age of 17, I hosted a standup comedy show for Parents Weekend at Brown. It was a hit not only among students, but also among parents. Five years later, when I met a friend’s grandma who had watched that show, she recalled her favorite joke from my set, which I had tailored to my auidence. This made me feel proud of my ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds and most importantly, communicate effectively. I learn continuously, adapt quickly, collaborate enthusiastically, and communicate compellingly. I co-founded Mera to make mental health care more accessible to everyone. Our app will provide personalized coping mechanisms daily, as well as an open and supportive community. My co-founder and I were selected to participate in Brown's Breakthrough Lab for high-impact ventures in 2020, and further built out our app then. We were also a finalist for the Brown Venture Prize in 2020. As a full-stack engineer, I built out our app using React Native and Expo, and used multiple AWS services (including DynamoDB) to store app information and user preferences and integrate it onto our interactive pages.
