In this role I gained valuable experience performing several different accounting functions under the tutelage of senior financial professionals. Primarily, my tasks centered around our purchasing of raw materials—receiving raw material shipments into our inventory tracking software system (GPS) as unsettled inventory, settling said material in GPS, completing settlement worksheets for each batch of material received, entering the corresponding invoices in our ERP software, and, finally, paying the supplier for the material. Other tasks included the utilization of our ERP software to receive and pay for supplies other than raw material, as well as the creation of invoices for material sold. I also had the opportunity to conduct plenty of excel file optimization.

Upon being officially added to the quality department, I continued all of the work I performed during my second tenure as an intern at AmeriTi, only with a few added tasks. In addition to recording, analyzing, and presenting MIM yield data, I also did the same for the investment casting process. I also began performing tests on the slurry used in the shell-building step of the investment casting process.

In my second internship with AmeriTi Manufacturing Company, I picked back up right where I had left off, continuing to disassemble, clean, and reassemble metal injection molding (MIM) molds. I dove deeper into quality control, heavily utilizing Microsoft Excel to record and analyze yield data across the various MIM processes. After recording and analyzing this yield data, I would present my findings to the executives every week. I continued to update part-specific parameters documents, now creating new part-specific parameters documents for newly introduced parts. In addition to all of this, I also helped a significant amount in the actual plant-floor level production work needed to manufacture parts. Overall, my second internship at AmeriTi was invaluable. It allowed me to gain a firm grasp on both the investment casting and MIM processes utilized in the production of titanium parts.

In this role, I worked directly for the general contractor on various residential construction projects. It was my duty to perform any construction-related task for which a sub-contractor was unnecessary. These tasks included anything from engineered flooring installation to general site clean-up. It was also my duty to pick up and deliver materials to the different construction sites.

AmeriTi Manufacturing Company primarily utilizes two processes for producing titanium parts--investment casting and metal injection molding (MIM). In this internship, I gained some brief exposure to both of these processes. I worked alongside a manufacturing engineer, garnering experience disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling metal injection molding molds, as well as experience assisting with engineering experiments. I also gained a bit of exposure to quality control, updating part-specific parameters Excel documents, intending to create clear instructions regarding the production of each titanium part.

In this role, I worked alongside an experienced finish carpenter. I assisted with many different carpentry projects, as well as with various other construction-related tasks. Our primary focus was on molding installations, cabinetry installations, and hardwood flooring installations.
