Sophia Yang

I am Yang Wen Ching (Sophia), a sophomore student at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, majoring in Accounting. As an adaptable learner, I’m deeply inspired by the intellectual enrichment that comes from studying in an international environment, where diverse perspectives converge to foster profound learning experiences. Besides studying in HKUST as an international student, I joined a winter exchange program at Yonsei University, where I explored strategy management, learning how organizations develop and execute strategic decision to gain a competitive advantage. I also did a case study on AmazonFresh’s disrupting innovation, VRIO framework, and analysis to its macro-environmental factors affecting strategies. Beyond academic, I actively engage in student leadership activities as the Internal Vice President of the Taiwanese St8udents’ Association. In this role, I collaborate with team members, organize cultural events, and foster community connection. Additionally, my experience in event planning, cross-cultural collaboration, and decision-making has strengthened my team communication, analytical, and problem solving skills. Given my background and abilities, I am confident my dedication, desire to learn, and willingness to do everything.
