* Temporary job as Support Engineer at MyRepublic, Singapore's bold new Internet Service Provider. * During this timeframe, the company was the first in Singapore to launch a gigabit connection to consumers at just $49.99 a month, which sparked a speed/price war in the market. * Responsibilities in this role included: * Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving user connectivity issues. * Network monitoring with both open-source and internally developed tools, including OSS systems, Smokeping and Cacti. * Reviewing and resolving support requests escalated to the company's second level support group on the ZenDesk ticketing system. * Enterprise/business support and deployment, with Ubiquiti's EdgeMAX devices. * Assisted with the original deployment of MyRepublic's Ookla Speed Test Server (http://speedtest.myrepublic.com.sg), including hardening and firewall setup of the Linux system. * Performed site visits to troubleshoot the new gigabit network as well as the legacy Nucleus Connect network at consumer and enterprise sites.
