Teaching Assistant and Student Mentor for the Reggio Emilia Study Abroad Program 2027 over the Summer, Fall, and next Spring. Responsibilities include managing and updating the Canvas webpage, reviewing student applications, conducting student interviews, and assisting with student selection. Support program recruitment through campus outreach, social media content creation, website updates, and promotional materials. Help coordinate and facilitate pre-departure orientations to prepare future students for their international experience. During the study abroad experience in Reggio Emilia, provide mentorship and guidance to students while in Italy.

I was selected to be a part of the first ever cohort in College of Education & Human Development program history to study abroad In Italy, to research the Reggio Emilia approach applied in early childhood education under the mentorship of Professor Jenna Dewar and Advisor Kaitlyn Wright.

I engaged with 2-year-olds in their classroom to support early social, emotional, and cognitive development. Practicing observation skills to connect developmental notices with real-world child behavior. I also collaborated with lead educators and professors to design age-appropriate learning activities and routines. Applying knowledge from my Human Development & Family Sciences coursework to support growth and development in young children.

I assisted lead teachers across classrooms, ensuring a smooth, engaging day for all the children. Memorized each of the children’s-parent’s names, and any allergies or special needs that the kids may have. Monitored developmental, behavioural, and emotional needs, ensuring safety and emotional wellness in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments. Communicated and collaborated with families and team members to support individualized care needs.

I was an Assistant Teacher for Creative Kids’ summer camp (ages 6-12). I helped lead themed activities in our 10-week "Wonder Camp” program, covering topics like gardening, crafting, mess-making, creativity, etc, each week. Supervising children during playtime and field trips, ensuring their safety and engagement throughout summer.

Developed strong interpersonal and communication skills by engaging diverse customers daily. Operated cash registers and worked iPads.
