Overseeing and enabling the discovery, engagement, and recruitment of authors for our products. I am primarily responsible to acquire the right authors for right projects from around the globe. I manage the development of new and engaging content whilst actively researching customer and product requirements for specific target audiences in emerging markets. Additionally ensure that multiple commercial projects across a broad range of product types reached the market as planned. • Researching and commissioning an extensive portfolio of commercially successful titles within the IT publishing sector. • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders like authors, reviewers, key communities, Editorial teams. • Finalizing the content of the book with the author. • Guiding the author through the book writing process and helping them to manage their schedule and quality of the chapters. Author Relations is one of the most important parts of the role as it involved maintaining relations with authors who are spread across the world. The role covered everything from sourcing potential authors, negotiating with them on advances & schedule, and working with them on developing great quality content.
