Sinan Akiman

Sinan Akiman is the Senior Managing Partner for his two companies Advanced Beta Group LLC, and Advanced Beta Funds LLC, registered in NJ in Sept. 2021, and later in CA in 2023. They have just laumched their new hedge fund: Advanced Beta US Equities Fund LP. Aside from active portfolio management, Sinan consults for his clients on political and economic developments, financial markets and asset prices, risk management, balance sheet structuring, and fund raising. During his consulting work, Sinan acts as the bridge between The Corp. and The Investment Bank - as advisor and translator between the two worlds. Sinan's client list mainly consists of banks' top management, real estate cfo's, holding company boards, high net worth individuals, and political parties and elected officials. Previously, Sinan held the position of Treasurer, while at Garanti Bank BBVA, and CIO while working at Garanti BBVA Asset Management. Sinan held these roles throughout his employment at Garanti Bank for 18 years (August 1993 - January 2012) in Istanbul Turkey. Sinan was commissioned with the task of creating the Treasury and Treasury Operations departments for Nurol Bank of Turkey in 2007, including updated risk management measuring and reporting, back office trails, and trading floor set up. Project lasted 8 months. Sinan was Treasurer during the 1998 Russian fallout, and the 2001 Turkey crisis, and spent many years during that time working in conjunction with the Central Bank of Turkey and the IMF during restructuring talks. Sinan also happens to hold two titles: he is the youngest ever to hold the position of Treasurer at a bank in Turkey (27 yrs old), and he is the first licensed Hedge Fund manager in Turkey as issued by the SPK, in the late 2000's where he managed Garanti Bank's first issued Hedge Fund "Istanbull." At the Bank, Sinan managed at team of 70+, at the Asset Management side a team of 20+. From 2012 - 2021, Sinan managed his own private fund and dpm for the (then) shareholders of the Bank and Holding Company. He is a consultant in balance sheet management, restructuring, debt & equity fund raising, and document based derivative transactions. He is an options and currency trader by trade, and has now over 30 years experience in Emerging Market currencies and government debt, as well as the US equity markets. He also consults on political issues, party specific politics, foreign policy, government finances and economics, and global macro outlook. During 2018-2021 Sinan was a Markets and Political Affairs Consultant for the US Consulate General, Istanbul.
