In 2002 I was sent out to Malawi by Project Trust (http://www.projecttrust.org.uk/), a Scottish educational non-profit organization, to do voluntary work as a teacher.

Stichting Studiebegeleiding Leiden provides 3 day courses preparing secondary school students for their final exam. Courses are offered in nearly all school subject. I worked as an assistant teacher in physics for both VWO and HAVO students.

During my internship at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) program at the HRW office in New York City I worked with the advocacy director. My work included research, the drafting of official letters and assisting the advocacy program.
