I run Blue Fox Publishing, an indie comics, graphic novels and gamebooks publisher based in Scotland. I'm also an award-winning screenwriter, and have written several novels, plays and many short stories. I write comics and my 'Antarctica' story has been published by Image comics in the Top Cow 'Stairway Anthology'. My wife and I have also produced and acted in 'Last Contact' - a sitcom - and 'Symbiote' - a post-apocalyptic movie. Both are available on Amazon Prime. I co-wrote (and acted in) The Search for Simon. Recently, I've been designing and prototyping my game Vs!, which I'm looking to present to games publishers. Packaging applications to run from Microsoft InTune. This delivery mechanism only delivers whole MSI’s, so having to rework vendor MSI’s as well as repackaging executables. Tools used are AdminStudio 2018, InstallShield and Orca.

I started the contract moving across applications that had been App-V'd to more traditional MSI/MST packages. When these were completed, I worked on both BAU and project related packaging, ensuring a swift turnaround for both. Also took on the SCCM 2012 package set and deployment, both for test and production.

I’m working within the packaging team, using InstallShield as the main packaging tool to create MSI’s and MST’s where appropriate. Using virtual machines to capture the package, Installshield to further adapt the package, clearing all ICE errors, and trimming out any unnecessary ICE warnings. I also use VBScript to create any custom actions that need to be catered for, as well as creating VBScripts that operate outside of the MSI and handle permission specific tasks like creating shortcuts based on AD Group membership. I use App-V 4.6 for any applications that need to be virtualised, sequencing the programs, and making sure the applications are streamed without errors. After the packages are created, I put them through Santuary Server architecture, which creates a log depicting the files that are part of the installation, along with their hash values, so they can be read into the production server, and thus be allowed to run on the locked down UAD’s. Distribution of the packages is via HP Radia. I create the packages and ZServices the system requires, export them and put everything into StarTeam, the version control software being used on site.
