About

I am at heart a radio and electronics engineer, who is equally at home putting that into practice designing new products or applying my knowledge and experience to business cases. The products I've developed range from tiny, mass market consumer devices to 50kW television transmitters the size of a shipping container. In between there have been lots of handheld radios, mobile phones and their basestations, and test & development platforms. Organisations that I've been a consultant for include telecom network operators; Ofcom and other regulators; manufacturers large and small in mobile telecoms, TETRA, and broadcasting; investors looking at companies such as those; and bus and rail transport operators.
