Diabesity is a unique peer-reviewed open access interdisciplinary journal intended to publish high-quality original research on the pathogenesis of diabetes, obesity and their complications. As such the journal prioritizes studies on metabolic syndrome as a whole uncovering new knowledge on the physiology and pathophysiology of diabetes and obesity.

Serve as a committee member for graduate students in the department of Human Nutritional Sciences. -Provide advice on the choice of thesis topics for at a standard consistent with the philosophy and practice of the department.

Participate in the offering of the new multi-tier, multidisciplinary program "Health Disease and Development", which is cross-listed with Biochemistry. The course will be offered both in-class and on-line.

Design and coordinate human clinical trials to asses the efficacy of nutraceuticals and functional foods in people with metabolic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia. Apart from biomedical research experiments, my current reponsibilites also include writing project proposals, human ethics documentation and manuscript preparations.
