1. Worked on various independent and collaborative research projects: (a) Investigate photocatalytic hydrogenation reactions under the effects of periodic illumination. (b) Synthesized and tested different catalytic materials for photocatalytic upcycling of plastic into amino acids (collaborative work, published in Nature Communications, 2025). (c) Design a novel reactor for ultra-fast ammonia decomposition to produce zero-carbon hydrogen (collaborative work, under review in Nature Chemical Engineering). In addition, reactor modelling was performed via COMSOL to compare the performance of the proposed reactor design with commercial steam reformers. 2. Led a small research team of 3 lab members and produced 3 publications within the past 2 years. 3. Contribute ideas and problem solving for the team. 4. Write publications and reviews, as well as presented works via poster and oral at conferences.

Researcher Phd Candidate
South West, Singapore
1. Thesis title: Investigations on Dynamic Promotion of Heterogeneous Photocatalytic Reactions (main work) (a) Experimental work: Investigating and proposing new mechanisms for promotional effects of periodic illumination on evolution, hydrogenation reactions and amino acid synthesis. (i) Developed experimental setup with a high pressure photoreactor, homemade mechanical shutter and a hybrid online/offline analysis technique. (ii) Designed and performed qualitative and quantitative analysis of products and catalysts using GC, HPLC, NMR, TEM, SEM, XPS and XRD. (iii) The major findings include: - Doubling the quantum yield of hydrogen evolution from photodecomposition of formic acid. - A remarkable 2.65-fold increment in photocatalytic activity for formic acid-mediated hydrogenation. (b) Simulation work: Developed kinetic model to generalise the promotion mechanism leading to observed enhancing effects of periodic illumination and solved by using MATLAB. Qualitatively matched the observations from earlier experimental works with aid of a model reaction. 2. Other projects/assignments: (a) Wrote a review article summarizing downstream processing of lignin. (b) Develop adsorption simulation model with Aspen Adsorption software to compare performance of newly developed adsorption materials with industrial adsorbents. (c) Investigate catalytic enhancement of electrocatalysis under oscillating potentials. 3. Mentored and advised junior PhD students on various research projects. 4. Managed chemical inventory and organised/updated SDS in current lab.

Process Engineer
Eternal Materials (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd
Pasir Gudang, Johor
1. Involved in the commissioning of Unsaturated Polyester Resin Plant. 2. Managed a team of operators to ensure that the batch processes at the plant run smoothly and each batch is completed on schedule as provided by the production planner. 3. Investigated and troubleshot process upsets and problems faced during production. 4. Developed process operation card for different types of products manufactured in the plant. 5. Collaborated with contractors and safety officers to ensure that the plant maintenance or construction of new plant facilities are completed on time and in a safe manner. 6. Consolidated Plant Instrumentation data, which will be used to identify the main causes of producing failed products and process abnormalities. 7. Trained operators on process control of the plant and to be familiarised with production procedure. 8. Documented SOPs and training materials, as well as prepared relevant documents for internal and ISO audits. 9. Attended the following courses: (a) Kursus Asas Pasukan Keselamatan. Kebakaran by Jabatan Bomba and Penyelamat Malaysia Johor (b) Authorised Entrant and Standby Person (AESP) for confined space by NIOSH (c) Authorised Gas Tester and Entry Supervisor (AGTES) for confined space by NIOSH
