As Assistant Manager I would assist our shop manager in daily shop operations. This would include ensuring sales targets were being met, and managing a team of 6. I would help create rotas and manage payroll. Assist in developing the shop team, culture and business. Manage stock room and incoming stock orders. As well as manage the Visual Merchandising of the store. After three months working in this role, I was found to have the highest average sale transaction in the whole company.

After my internship I was offered a role in the distribution team. Lonely Hearts had only just made worldwide shipping available on their web-store, and so a lot of my initial work was creating packing and shipping procedures, and ensuring they were plausible with customs. The processes I helped create are still used there today. Another large chunk of my job was online customer service, ensuring all customers were happy and had received their package. All conversations with our customers was over email and had to be handled as quickly and efficiently as possible. I also assisted with wholesale distribution to national and international stockists, and have a strong knowledge of shipping and customs procedures.

The majority of my internship work was assisting the Production Manager with production processes in the design studio, such as cutting and producing samples and organising the design space and stock room. I also helped create and manage the production timeline of all new season designs, beginning with assisting in sourcing fabrics and trimmings, managing shipping timelines and costs, and liaising with our manufacturers to ensure all product was delivered in time. During my time as a part of the production team I learnt the ins and outs of the production process of an established apparel brand, as well as creating a strong relationship with the company.

This role as a Shop Lead at Kit and Ace has been the most diversified role I have had. As it is a start up company, I have been given many opportunities to develop a range of skills. The large majority of my role is assisting the Shop Director with daily shop operations. Ensuring sale targets are being met. Managing shop team of 14. Creating rotas and managing payroll. Assisting shop director in developing shop team, culture and business. Representing shop during Impact calls with Head Office. Subject is shop revenue, UPT, ATV, and all things related to driving business. Managing stock room and incoming stock orders. I also manage VM for Regent Street. I follow weekly directives from Head Office as well as using money mapping, and keeping an eye on trends and our competition for inspiration. I now run the On-boarding and training sessions for new staff for the U.K. I am part of a team creating authentic relationships with clientele to develop personal shopping within Regent Street.
