As an assistant media analyst at Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) Public Affairs, my primary duties included media monitoring duties and analysis of the media coverage and internet postings. I was also entrusted with various responsibilities and duties: Analysed contents of new reports and media sentiments Summarised and translated new reports Revamped archives for quick and easy retrieval of relevant materials Acquisition and archival of new reports across the traditional and new media During my two-year stint in National Service, I have learnt to work independently and with my peers effectively on special projects and assignments. My role has also helped to develop my analytical skills as I was required to discern the amount of public concern if any as well as highlight the key concerns for the Ministry to address. I believe that these set of skills will be invaluable to me when I enter the workforce in the future.
