Co-Founder: Operations and Engineering @ Entropora, Inc
About
I build at the intersection of AI, hardware, and humanity, and I help founders, operators, and engineers do the same.Co-founder of Entropora, the shared company I build with my partner Lorenz Sauer, shipping products that put intelligence into the physical world. Together we're building heydict.com, a private voice agent that automates complex enterprise workflows locally, so data never leaves your network. Consultant to companies turning sensor data into decisions: telematics, water metering, locomotive diagnostics, air quality, custom ASIC bring-up.My background:→ Aerospace structural design at Antonov State Company (AN-148, AN-178 fuselage FEM analysis)→ Industrial IoT at IFM ecolink: designed and shipped multiple IO-Link devices and CAN-to-IO-Link gateways, MISRA-C compliant, full EMC certification→ Ultra-low-power firmware at Itron: architected the Intelis water meter (15+ year battery target, AES-encrypted bootloader, OTA in the field)→ Reverse engineering at Railnova: cracked undocumented locomotive protocols (MVB, Voith, BCM2CAN) and built FPGA + Linux pipelines to expose the data→ Lead Firmware Architect (consulting): STM32H5 telematics from BOM target to mass production, custom CANOpen stack, NB-IoT/LTE, secure OTA, CI pipelines that cut regression bugs 40%What I care about now: building product companies that ship fast, work in the real world, and make people's lives better. Hardware is finally cheap and reliable enough that two people in a garage can ship things that used to take a team of fifty. AI just made the loop ten times tighter. I want to build that future and help others build it with me.If you're a founder in hardware, robotics, IoT, or applied AI, or you're trying to ship something physical and stuck, let's talk. Always happy to trade notes.📩 andrii@shylenko.com🛠 github.com/w1ne🌐 shylenko.com

Andrii Shylenko
- Architected a cost-effective telematics solution from scratch, defining technical specifications to meet strict BOM targets. - Engineered the complete firmware lifecycle on STM32H5, featuring data logging, OTA capabilities, and a custom CANOpen stack. - Built a "Nightly Build" CI/CD pipeline (Docker AND Jenkins) that automated unit/integration testing, reducing regression bugs by 40%. - Solved complex connectivity by integrating Quectel modems (NB-IoT/LTE) and BLE CLM3600 Telematics unit. Tech Stack: WiFi/Bluetooth, UDS, TPM, HTTPS https://www.proemion.com/en/products/hardware/canlink-mobile/canlink-mobile-3600.html - Delivered robust WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity for a CAN-based telematics gateway, ensuring compliance with Japan MIC and RED (CE) wireless standards. - Implemented critical security features including updates of the Quectel wireless module, TPM module integration, and signed FOTA updates via HTTPS. - Developed UDS connectivity for Tier-1 OEM ECUs (TTC, Bomag), enabling secure authentication and remote firmware flashing. Air quality monitoring device. Tech Stack: Zephyr RTOS, ESP32, RP2040. - Designed a dual-microcontroller architecture (ESP32 + RP2040) running Zephyr RTOS, optimizing for low-power consumption and high reliability. - Implemented a secure Inter-Chip Communication over UART protocol to synchronize sensor data processing and wireless transmission. Deployed a fail-safe OTA update mechanism to prevent "bricking" during field updates

Embedded IoT Engineer
Reverse Engineering of data interfaces on locomotives🚂 and embedded Linux development. The nuts and bolts of predictive maintenance. Getting data from locomotives via CAN-based protocols: J1939, CANOpen, BCM2CAN; as well as MVB, and Voith. MVB bus signal acquisition analysis; Embedded Linux software development in C and Python; Fleet management. For the purpose of data acquisition from locomotives, I have developed a series of applications in Python to extract parameter mapping from user documentation and implement them in parameters sent via MQTT to the cloud. Part of my job is to perform data analysis (Jupiter/Pandas) and create design documentation for the Railster (Dual Arm Cortex + FPGA platform) project based on Embedded Linux, as well as write technical reports for customers.

RnD Firmware Engineer
Budapest
Ultra-Low Power Metering (Intelis) and Field Diagnostics Tech Stack: Cortex-M, MSP430, LoRaWAN, WM-Bus, SPI/DMA, AES-128, Bootloaders. - Architected and delivered the firmware for the next-gen Intelis static water meter, managing the full lifecycle from code implementation to mass production tests. - Engineered a high-throughput Inter-Processor Communication protocol using SPI over DMA, offloading the main MCU to maximize sleep time and battery life (15+ year target). - Designed a secure, AES-encrypted bootloader and update procedure, ensuring safe Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware upgrades in the field without compromising device data. - Implemented metrology algorithms based on marketing requirements, including leak detection, air-in-pipe analysis, and monthly usage profiling. - Root-caused and resolved critical field failures in legacy Heat Cost Allocators, specifically diagnosing "Hard Reset" loops and WOR (Wake-On-Radio) timing misconfigurations that were causing data loss. - Optimized interrupt handling logic in the radio stack to eliminate race conditions during WM-Bus/LoRa communication.

RnD Embedded Software Engineer / Application Engineer
Opole, Opole District, Poland
Software engineer for Industrial IoT based on the IO-Link technology. While working in the small international design team, several devices and actors have been created and successfully brought to the market: ● Specification writing, software requirements definition (Polarion), competitors analysis. ● Code modules architecture (UML/Enterprise Architect): E.g. Digital inputs filtering architecture, UML state machine for short circuit handling, inter-processor communication, etc. ● Embedded C development (C11, GCC-ARM, MISRA, Doxygen): E.g. Implementation of the software and unit tests for digital filters, low-level system drivers, Error Handling state machine, LEDs driver, inter-processor communication, Bootloader, etc. ● Unit, integration and system testing. ● EMC and IO-Link conformance tests. ● Production support (Python scripts), and production procedures: Serial number flashing via IO-link, the procedure for the readout code protection, etc.

Structural Analysis Engineer
Design and strength calculations of the cargo aircraft tail unit elements: I have created the AN-178 tail section Former FEM design using calculation in Excel/Mathlab and built a FEM model to test loads on the part. I have calculated AN-148 skin stringers' strength and fuselage skin stability.
