Buyer’s responsibilities including send out RFQ's for price and availability, execute newbuy and PDC reschedules weekly, PDC reschedules including pull in, push out or cancel as per MRP request. All newbuys and PDC reschedules are requested to be finished in time. Work with planner closely to meet their urgent pull in requirement, if the supplier can’t meet our requirement, escalate to the supervisor or higher level to get help. Have weekly meeting with customer for critical shortage report, Work with commodity, RSM, GSM when execute weekly newbuy to make sure the award information such as supplier, price etc are correct. Work with suppliers closely to avoid the delayed shipment. Training the suppliers to deliver on time. Research alternative suppliers for obsolete or long lead time parts.Resolve the MRB, RTV, AP HOLDS. Manage implementation of engineering changes, interpretation of procurement policies, process improvement projects, contract negotiation and approval of PPV's.

OrbusNeich is an American company which manufacture the medical catheters including guiding catheter, balloon catheter and stent delivery system. I am responsible for planning and purchasing most of the raw materials and in-direct materials both for production and R&D projects, and also work for cost down, stock management. Follow up the orders to meet MRP system, work closely with the requested department, make sure have enough materials for production. I visited our supplier in the US twice to learn their production capacity, and discussed with them to improve their delivery, resolve the complaint etc. Set up reasonable safety stock, get good stock turn-over running rate. Contact with the supplier when get complaint, meet with Engineers from Quality, ME, Production Department to evaluate according to the NCMR, to decide if we will accept all, return back to the supplier or sorting by ourselves, resolve the problem as soon as possible with no production delay. During a period a supplier often has quality problem of the material which they provide, we will issue a CAR to them and ask them to explain why the problem happened, and how they will take measures to avoid it happen again in the future. Choose and evaluate a supplier to make it meet requirements of ISO quality system. As an internal auditor, find problems in audit and also give suggestion to improve. The supplier’s ISO certificate is validate, COC meet our requirement. I am responsible for related suppliers' set up, management and evaluation. Learn the price change of a supplier, compare the advantages between different suppliers which provide same material. Have yearly evaluation for the suppliers which provide key materials, evaluate from price, delivery, quality etc. On site audit for key material supplier and local supplier, phone call audit or other ways for other suppliers. Evaluate a new supplier by the price and sample. Help the supplier to provide the qualified sample on time.
