- Supervision of vessels crew, and providing support as required - Overall responsible for the maintenance and general upkeep of all machinery and equipment onboard vessels - Monitoring the preventive maintenance system to ensure all maintenance is up to date - Ensure the implementation of the safety management system in his department - Maintaining an accurate inventory of vessel spare parts, tools, lube oil, and addressing requests from vessel crew including fuel - Act as a vital link between the vessels and main office - Perform and participate in internal audits to ensure compliance - Participate in and prepare vessels for statutory inspections and compliance audits - Coordinate and report on major maintenance jobs to include dry dock - Liaise with external suppliers and contractors regarding the provision of service to the operations - Supervise and provide guidance as required to external contractors to ensure the Company’s safety practices are maintained - Ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations - Make sure that work is performed according to company practices - Make sure that personnel under his supervision adhere to company practices - Ensure that vessels are ready for inspections - Maintain operational readiness of machinery - Ensure quality, efficiency and effectiveness - Provide leadership and teamwork

- Maintain fleet vessels in a seaworthy condition and fit for service in all aspects in accordance with all relevant rules, regulations and company requirements. - Developing and implementing planned maintenance, condition-based, repair and dry-docking process. - Shipyard supervision and guarantee works. - Coordinating and controlling maintenance and repair plans including contract negotiations with shipyards, contractors and vendors including assessment of shipyards, contractors and vendors. - Preparing the docking schedule. - Coordination and supervision of technical projects. - Preparing the budget for the fleet and cost control. - Planning and assessment of condition surveys. - Supervision of major capital projects. - Developing initiatives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the routine and special monitoring, control and reporting procedures described in the Safety Management System. - Implementing safety, health, environment and quality policies. - Supervision of employees, continuous improvement and conflict management. - Handling emergencies. - Vessel inspections and audits. - Participating in senior management review. - Investigating accidents and incidents, review, following up with preventive measures. - Analyzing vessels’ data, monitor trends and following up with corrective actions. - Complying with ISM, ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 accreditation and Transport Canada regulations (CSA 2001).

- Technical management of the ships; - Safe and efficient operation of the engineering department; - Maintain inter-departmental communication; - Confirming physical integrity of the ships, sound condition of the equipment, particularly where it may affect the safe operation or schedule of the ships; - Training of engine room personnel to operate the main engine controls in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with all applicable safety precautions, regulations, good engineering practice and corporate procedure; - Ensuring that all tests and checks are carried out prior to the first departure each day, and recorded; - Ensuring maintenance standard schedules are adhered to and issuing appropriate instructions; - Coordinating the vessel’s refit and dry-docking program; - Maintaining sufficient inventory of spare parts and stores, placing the orders as required; - Working in unionized worker condition and atmosphere.

- Familiarity with the Health, Safety, Environmental Protection and Quality Policy (PL-005), and understands the responsibilities under the Environmental Management System (EMS). - Understand & Reporting any environmental noncompliance and/or concern to the higher management. - Analyzing ships’ performance; guides and assist colleagues; performs ship inspections (such as pre-purchase inspections); conducts accident investigations and manages complicated ship refurbishments, repairs and modifications. - Guides, advises, and monitors vessel operations; also assists crew performing vessel maintenance - Researches technical information related to equipment breakdowns, malfunctions, improvements, upgrades or modifications for the reliable long-term performance of the vessels - Prepares for scheduled dry dockings, surveys and repairs of ships, and arranges and manages the supply of spares, stores - Servicing before scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs - Managing vessels in full compliance with local and international rules and regulations - Ensuring compliance with charter-party terms of employment and other commercial concerns - Ensuring compliance with all statutory and trading certification and survey requirements - Inspection of ships, monitoring function and performance, initiates effective problem solving of on-board issues, including technical, quality assurance, health and safety, commercial or personnel issues - Budget preparation (operational, dry dockings, surveys, repairs and ad-hoc modifications and repairs within required timelines) - Monitoring and tracking expenses against budget; submit operational expense reports - Communicating expectations to direct reports; managing performance and providing leadership and support to team members - Analyzing trends to monitor the performance of ships, quickly resolve issues and prevent off-hires and maintain company revenue.
