Was responsible to promote and oversee the highest standards of governance within the Board in planning and coordinating social and economic development activities for four districts in the Southern region of Sri Lanka (Galle, Matara, Hambantota and Monaragala). Primary areas of focus involved development of tourism, expansion of export led industrialization, introduction of technology and innovation for agriculture and fisheries industries, and creation of value additions and market linkages. Furthermore, acted as a member of the secretaries committee to review and advise on the concession agreement for the leasing of the Hambantota Port. Key Accomplishments: • Completed the land acquisition of 1,800 acres in Dedduwa area to transform it as Sri Lanka’s largest high-end tourism zone using the location’s natural ecology. Instrumental in conceptualizing the project including its hydraulic analysis, water and soil testing, financial feasibility, environmental guidelines, investment proposal within 24 months. • Identified 12,500 acres of land in Hambantota and Monaragala districts to establish an export oriented special economic zone that could generate employment and further develop the region.

Instrumental in conceptualizing and establishing the pioneer hybrid fibre coaxial cable network (broadband enabled) for television in Sri Lanka. Responsible for the generation of an annual revenue of Rs 300 million, providing leadership to a staff strength of 125 personnel. Grew the company from a channel capacity of 32 to more than 115 channels and was accountable for successfully influencing international broadcasters to launch content in Sri Lanka to expand the cable TV entertainment market.
