It was a Temporary assignment for Interstate Engineering, Inc. Portland, Oregon. Duties as a detailed designer/drafter. Worked on a renovation project to the Nabisco Plant in Portland, Oregon, Job required piping layouts and some structural renovations for earthquake requirements.

Designer 2 and cad systems. Tasks included food facility design as well as assisted the cad systems group. Covered all disciplines of drafting in food as well as micro-fab design with I.D.C. Industrial division. Workedn under Hal Rightmeier Kept all drawings on schedule for issue to clients. Supervisor: Vern Jackson

Duties included but were not limited to, hand sketches, updating existing drawings, and some design work for food processing equipment (blanchers, fryers, etc.)

Designer/ Drafter tasks included layout and designs of industrial food processing facilities. Including creating process flow diagrams, p & id’s, plant design and layout.

C.A.D. Drafter, drafting and design was in vibratory conveying systems in the salt and snack food industry.

Ship repair yard, Portland, Oregon. Duties included drafting and art work for various ships. Mechanical, electrical and also many “as built” construction drawings.

Principles of drafting From light residential through multi-level commercial with emphasis on practical application of current practices approved by National Building codes. Presentation drawings, estimating and model construction were also required. Computer aided drafting: C.A.D. terminology, history and future trends, hardware and software, menus and commands, plotting, digitizing, building a data library, system security, C.A.D.D. acquisition and system manager.
