After eleven years directing company operations I was graciously given a share of the business becoming a Franchisee of the Burger King Corporation. Along with this came and opportunity to serve as President of the Pittsburgh/New York Franchisee Association and participate at a National level during, perhaps, the most significant time in the Association's history.

28 years of entrepreneurial adrenalin! In association with an excellent business partner we grew the company from one restaurant to twenty-two, setting a high standard for quality, service and cleanliness. Along the way we developed a great many dedicated and professional leaders, gathered several significant awards and met all challenges. A great run!

An amazing opportunity to work in London, England directing operations for a small chain of up-scale, delivery-only kitchens offering seven cuisines. The customer base included major banks, the Stock Exchange, movie studios and occasionally #10 Downing Street. My challenge was to institute brand practices and standards to prepare the company for expansion as well as develop a successor for the position when my contract was complete.

An opportunity to help turnaround a recently acquired market with restaurants in Indiana and Kentucky. Along with a team of five District Managers, we operated 37 restaurants, several of which were re-built or re-modeled during this time.

One of seven founders of Wentworth Technology. Our initial product, SpeedThru, was a ground breaking headset system for QSR restaurants. My duties ranged from: assisting our engineers in specification and design of the system, designing the human interface (touch screen), presenting SpeedThru to top-tier QSR companies, developing a national installation and service organization; also interim national sales manager.

Well, this is different. I found someone who wanted by cafes more that I did and we struck a deal. Wishing Rylan and Jennifer all the success in the world. A great couple with a passion for excellence. Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a great brand that has treated Kathy and I well. We will miss our "TSC Family" and the greatest customers in the quick-serve industry. But, time marches on. We are ready to walk at a slower pace and enjoy our leisure. A special thanks to Howard and Erica, Gail and Eric, the pioneers in Raleigh that welcomed us to town six years ago. They had established the Brand with high standards and it only made our run that much easier. Now, if you see a guy in a little black two-seater, smiling for no apparent reason, it could be me.
