* Led the creation of a regional centre from scratch to full business operations. * Project managed the establishment of the SADC regional centre by coordinating all the activities including laboratory construction to the identification of experts to come and assist with the set up as well as organise conferences for delegates from the SADC member states * Fulfilled the functions of regional director for UNIDO and secured further funding for the project in excess of US$10 million of direct donor investment funds * Hired 15 specialist telecommunications engineers and technicians in addition to admin staff * Established and maintained relationships with the SADC telecommunications administrations, Southern Africa Transport and Communications Committee (SATCC), ITU regional representative in Southern Africa, UNIDO, UNDP, CSIR South Africa, Commonwealth Secretariat, Canadian Research Institute, and many more. Deployed several Cell on Wheels (COW) for VHA special events and I recently completed construction of an Australian Government emergency warning system starting from specification site construction, integration all the way to acceptance testing and launch 3 weeks ahead of the current 2013/2014 fire season - a system that has been used extensively. I ensured compliance to quality standards, Operational readiness requirements /standards, Health & safety standards, and Electrical installation standards. Deployed MSS in Pool and RAN multi-homing enabling the VHA Network to be ready for LTE Implemented SGSN in pool, SW upgrades for GGSN and SGSN. Led cross functional teams and took responsibility for multiple projects including Voicemail, Video-mail, IP Interconnect, MSS and MGW upgrades. I leveraged technical knowledge to navigate a challenging programme of work to contribute to success. I was awarded two gold stars in recognition of my team’s efforts.

Developed and published Intelligent Network architecture transition plans that included both the technical and business risk analysis of deploying the recommended architecture. Represented Telecom New Zealand at the ITU- T Study Group 11 standardisation meetings where the information gained was used to facilitate discussions with equipment vendors while fully conversant of the initiatives and conversant with the direction that standards were going
