NYCHA — Replacement of Boilers & Hot Water Heaters (Sumner Houses, Brooklyn, NY) Nov 2024 – Present” Full Time “. Scope of work: Multi-building steam heating upgrade involving demolition and replacement of steam boilers, condensate and vacuum systems, combustion air/flue systems, hydronic hot water systems, and temporary heating using mobile boiler plants to maintain service during phased construction. - reviewed construction engineering for boiler replacement, condensate and vacuum equipment, and hydronic hot water systems. I verified demolition plans for existing steam and condensate piping and evaluated temporary heating arrangements using mobile boilers. I reviewed vendor data for boilers, condensate receivers, vacuum tanks, and accessories and verified routing and installation for steam, condensate, and feedwater piping. In the field, I performed inspections during installation and observed functional testing and commissioning of boiler plant components and temporary heating systems to ensure service continuity across multiple buildings.

MTA-NYCT — ADA Accessibility Upgrade & Station Renewal Borough Hall Station (Brooklyn, NY) NY (Nov 2023 – Nov 2024) Full Time. (Nov 2024 – Present) Part Time work at weekend only. Scope of work : Mechanical ventilation, heating, and controls for new ADA elevators, elevator machine/control rooms, passenger spaces, and station ancillary rooms as part of transit accessibility upgrades. - I reviewed mechanical shop drawings, wiring diagrams, fan curves, and heater data sheets for compliance with contract documents; responded to RFIs; and issued clarifications resolving conflicts between ductwork, elevator machine rooms, and architectural and structural features. During the design-build execution phase, I verified HVAC installations in the field, observed functional ventilation testing, reviewed commissioning reports, and verified corrective actions for punch list and closeout.

NYCHA — Boiler Plant and Heating Upgrades (Gowanus Houses, Brooklyn, NY) Nov 2022 – Oct 2023 – Full Time. Scope of Work: Construction of a new standalone boiler plant building including boilers, hydronic systems, ventilation systems, and controls for multi-building residential heating. - During construction, I observed hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, reviewed hydronic balancing data, verified insulation for energy code compliance, and observed start-up and commissioning. I issued design clarifications and documented final constructed conditions. Codes /Standards Applied: ASHRAE & NYC Mechanical/Energy Codes; NFPA safety standards.

(1) EVA Cosmetics Factory, 6th of October City, Egypt &(2) St. George Church, Madinaty, Egypt Jul 2019 – Oct 2022 Scope of Work: Air-cooled chiller plant, chilled-water distribution, and HVAC design for industrial production spaces, laboratories, storage, and administrative areas requiring process and comfort cooling. I performed original HVAC design for a cosmetics manufacturing facility including production spaces, storage, laboratories, and administrative areas. I calculated cooling loads to account for process heat gains, air change rates, occupancy, lighting, and envelope loads. I developed the concept of a central chilled-water system using vapor compression refrigeration and determined supply and return chilled-water temperatures and ΔT for coil and chiller selection. I designed chilled-water distribution networks including headers, pumps, valves, strainers, and balancing devices. I designed air distribution systems and selected AHUs and FCUs; sized ducts, branches, and diffusers; and coordinated equipment and distribution systems with architectural and structural constraints. I prepared mechanical BIM models, drawings, schedules, and technical specifications and developed tender and BOQ documentation. During installation, I verified chiller, pump, and ductwork placement; confirmed coil and piping connections; and observed test and balancing procedures for chilled-water and air systems. I provided engineering input during start-up to confirm flow rates and supply air conditions satisfied design criteria.
