Shayur Dayanand

Shayur Dayanand is a Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registered with ECSA, holding a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering and an Honours degree specialising in Transportation Engineering. He has specialised expertise in pavement engineering, road asset management, and advanced pavement evaluation technologies, with a particular focus on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and deflection-based assessment methods. He leads GPR operations at an international level across South Africa, Brazil, India, Sweden, and Australia, overseeing survey planning, data quality assurance, analysis, and the integration of GPR and deflection data for pavement structural assessment and residual life evaluation. His responsibilities include managing multidisciplinary technical teams, developing operational methodologies, and supporting clients with data-driven maintenance and rehabilitation strategies. Shayur has extensive experience working with road authorities and infrastructure owners, contributing to research, innovation, and the practical implementation of advanced pavement technologies. He is actively involved in professional development, mentoring young engineers, and delivering technical presentations to industry stakeholders and government departments.
