Supports Production Engineering’s process and development needs to drive continual improvement within MOGAS Engineering with specific consideration to improvement of overall production processes, productivity, quality, and cost. ~ Manages and leads change initiatives within the department and the company. ~ Conducts complex statistical analysis and drives improvement efforts based on analysis. ~ Partners with process owners and leads process improvement projects to implement solutions that reduce costs, ensure product integrity, improve process lead time, reduce process related downtime (holds), and improve Production Engineering capacity utilization. ~ Drives process issues to root cause solutions; develops root cause & corrective action plans. ~ Identifies and prioritizes key Lean Six Sigma/Kaizen initiatives that can maximize contribution to business goals and engineering capability/capacity. ~ Assists Production Engineering Manager in monitoring departmental production levels to ensure that standards are adhered to.

Responsible for sustaining engineering for resilient seated and high performance butterfly valve product lines for commercial and Navy applications. ~ Planned and lead engineering activities for new product developments within schedule and budget parameters, including creating and controlling action plans, product design, technical documentation, and qualification testing. ~ Provided technical support and training to Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Customer Support, and end customers. ~ Dispositioned non-conforming production parts and approved engineering deviation requests. ~ Created and approved engineering specifications, processes and procedures, checked and approved all engineering documents, including bills of materials, detail part and assembly drawings, and product requirements.

Lead multiple activities in Lubrication Group, oversaw schedule for group activities, delegated work to designers/drafters, checked all drawings before release, ensured on time delivery of completed engineering work to the next engineering level. ~ Lead Six Sigma Green Belt project for productivity improvement of lubrication design, reduced activity time by streamlining processes, created detailed work instructions, and developed new methods of entering/storing contract data, improved work flow and efficiency ~ Conceptualized and modeled lubrications systems onto compressor assembly, specified major components, laid out pipe/tube runs, verified conformance to industry standards, and ensured overall system integration. ~ Created bill of materials in SAP, verified component structure and accuracy, researched and specified new components when necessary to adhere to new specifications required by customers.

Created over-speed test charts from data acquired during testing of Navy turbines, completed and compiled turbine engineering data packages needed for completion of quality documentation. ~Improved assembly instructions for Navy turbines, rewriting instructions with more detailed information and simplifying steps for better understanding and ease of use. ~Calculated valve stem lengths and designed retrofit components for new actuation technology on commercial nuclear governor valves.

* Designed and maintained an Access database for Inspection Reports to be used to manage, organize, and analyze nonconformance. * Improved a MS Excel program for thermal flange movement to be more animated, improving accuracy and reducing engineering time. * Formulated a torque procedure for assembly of single stage turbine cases, reducing leakage during hydrostatic testing and improving consistency.
