Mortarmen are responsible for the tactical employment of the 60mm light mortar and the 81mm medium mortar. Mortarmen provide indirect fire in support of the rifle and LARS quads/platoons/companies and the infantry and LAR battalions. They are located in the weapons platoons of the rifle and LAR companies and the weapons company of the infantry battalion. Noncommissioned officers are assigned as mortar gunners, forward observers, fire direction plotters, and squad and section leaders.

A mail handlers job usually consists of sorting, moving, organizing, loading and shipping mail before it ends up with the actual mailperson who delivers it. Mail handlers will operate sorting machinery and other machinery to sort mail and load packages into trucks and vans. Packages and boxes of sorted mail can be very heavy and, according to the United States Postal Service website, mail handlers should be physically capable of lifting packages up to 70 lbs. Mail handlers may also work the front counter of a post office as a clerk. Here they sell postage stamps to customers, help them affix postage, weigh packages and route mail.
