The overarching requirement of the role is to maximise the efficiency and profitability of the Group’s logistics operations while simultaneously achieving best practice in systems, process and technology, continuous improvement, supply chain, automation and delivery. Responsibility for the entire logistics life-cycle from strategy to process flow, improvement, automation and operations; including, but not limited to forecast, planning, procurement, inventory control, rate setting, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution. Evaluate the organisation's logistics supply chain performance against projected costs and timelines and coordinate activities across the network.

Having been brought into the Milton Keynes DC with the key objective to stabilise both the operation and customer relationship. This has been achieved by supporting the Head of Operations in proactively helping the established warehouse to improve efficiencies and drive cost reductions. • Site closure of our MKII international operation and the relocation and integration into the main DC, driving cost efficiencies. • Relaying of the Milton Keynes warehouse in preparation for WMS implementation. • Management restructure to drive Management efficiencies and effectiveness. • Staff engagement to drive cultural change within the DC, by defining roles, process and empowering both colleagues and Managers. • Silver ROSPA award for the account, on first entry in 2017 • Achieved for both DHL and Acadia, a budget reduction of £800k against 2016/2017 when service offering was changing during this time. • Plan and executed two peaks both of which exceeded previous years volumes and performance. • Successfully implemented major changes across all departments to drive both service and cost benefits, resulting in KPIs being achieved and a cost benefit of £200k YOY saving. • International operation review where both customer and partner challenged on current operational practices result in a successful change, which has benefited both services and reduced costs estimated full year benefit of £300k. • Supporting change Management in both our Leeds and Birmingham operation.

One of the largest contract within the division, employing an average of 1,900 core and agency personnel across four sites and with an annual turnover of £51m +, of which I was responsible for £17m (excluding site start up budgets). I was brought to the Debenhams account to implement a fully integrated network and to ensure the smooth implementation of the click and collect service Debenhams, this was completed successfully on Brackmills and also played a major part in the opening of a new 1.3m sq ft warehouse in Sherburn, which was delivered on time and within budget and at the same time as managing and implementing major changes to the transport division of the contract by way of a very successful control tower. I was also responsible for implementing warehouse strategies to overcome the needs of a very demanding customer.

Management of Tesco secondary store deliveries, service in 280 stores, managing a workforce of 240 core drivers, maintaining a close working relationship with the customer’s logistics team and store managers.
