Dr. Shashank is a Post-doctoral Scholar at Radiology, School of Medicine, Stanford University. He has experience in intravital imaging of cellular therapy (i.e., umbilical cord-derived MSCs) and early cancer diagnosis (i.e., melanoma) using pre-clinical modalities (optical, MRI, and CT). Dr. Shashank is working on understanding and stimulating the regenerative signature of cellular therapies (i.e.,source-specific mesenchymal stem cells and human pancreatic islets) at molecular and functional levels using novel pulsed-focused ultrasound technology. He is performing experiments on priming cells (to increase their bioenergetic health and organ (to modulate the micro-environment) in addition to loco-regional administration of therapies for improving the therapeutic outcomes. Also, to increase the release and therapeutic cargo within these MSCs-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) to treat different diseases (i.e., diabetes millets, ARDS, kidney injury, Inflammatory bowel diseases, and Alzheimer's) in rodent models.
