About

I have a life-long interest in nursing education and professional development. I had the opportunity to develop a robust department of nursing education at Nationwide Children’s Hospital including placing the first unit based nursing educators and hiring the first PhD prepared nursing researcher. I left this position to pursue and complete my own doctoral studies at The Ohio State University. As a professor and director of graduate nursing programs at Capital University, I focused on incorporating the psychophysiology of body-mind stress and healing and into educational programs for nursing students and faculty. Our curriculum is recognized by the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation. Since my transition to professor emeritus in 2015, I have been dedicated to teaching and assisting nurses to establish self-care habits that build resilience and wellbeing in a variety of practice settings; as well as working with an interdisciplinary team to build the monitoring of wellbeing into an automated platform that supports hospital nursing orientation and residency programs.
