Oversee preschool and school age teachers and curriculum

KIDS CONNECTION is a safe place for students to receive academic support and develop social skills in a Christian environment. Oversee day to day operations of the program. Hire and train teachers, aides, drivers and volunteers. Plan and implement best schedule to meet nutritional, educational and social needs of children. Maintain communication with parents and other involved adults. Schedule activities including field trips, mission projects and other enrichment opportunities.

Plan and implement discipleship activities for children and their families. Recruit and train volunteers for children’s programming. Act as supervisor for the Childcare Staff. Develop and lead children’s choir and children’s bell choir. Plan and teach Confirmation classes. Assist in leading worship as Commissioned Deacon, preaching at least once a month and helping serve communion. Maintain statistical records for annual reports.

In conjunction with Doctor of Ministry project, provide guidance to a leadership team chosen to evaluate and update Sunday School program. Consultation included choosing new curriculum, organizing teacher-training sessions and finding new ways to include parents in Sunday School learning. Work with Staff Parish to create job description for a new Christian Education Director.

Develop and implement plan for new before and after school program. Fundraise support for various ministry projects, including writing grant proposals. Teach classes when needed. Assist in planning and leading praise and traditional worship. Plan and lead worship at local rehabilitation center and assisted living center. Maintain statistical records for annual reports. Create promotional material.

I am the primary advisor for TEACH scholarship recipients who are working on their Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Development.
