This program empowers youth in the city of Boston with the skills necessary to resolve and prevent conflict in their community. My responsibility included developing weekly session plans and activities based on suggestions and topics provided to me by the youth in the program. I was also responsible for facilitating peace circle discussion, as well as addressing issues amongst the group such as working with distracting students and having one-on-ones with students who are having a hard time in group.

My responsibilities included meeting with juveniles and their families to complete initial intake forms including background information, financial information, etc in both an office setting as well as in lockup if a juvenile was being detained. I was also responsible for explaining to the juvenile and their families the type of case the juvenile has accured, whether it be a Child Requiring Assistance case, Delinquency case, or Care and Protection case, and how the cases will advance from our initial meeting. My other responsibilities as an intern included assisting Probation Officers with organizing and filing case folders, transcribing dates for future hearings during delinquency sessions in court, and assisting with daily tasks within the office.
