I hold a Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from McGill University (麦吉尔大学, Montreal, Canada), a M.Sc. degree from Peking University (北京大学, Beijing, China). I am Head of the Artificial Intelligence and System Modelling (AISM) Group at InnoLight Technology Ltd.(中际旭创) My work primarily focuses on ALGORITHMS, MODELS, and their APPLICATIONS in the optical communication industry. I am leading a group working on a variety of interesting research topics, including but not limited to the following: 1. optical communication modelling using advanced techniques such as AI (typically neural networks) and physics-based mathematical methods; 2. AI-powered manufacturing automation, including computer vision and physical AI based on reinforcement learning; 3. analysis of physical mechanisms in communication links, such as semiconductor lasers and fiber-related issues; and the investigation of high-capacity, short-reach VCSEL-MMF communication links.

Senior Scientist
Head of "Artificial Intelligence and System Modelling (AISM) Group" & "X-Product Project Group” I am using AI to transform the conventional manufacturing process for optical modules, slashing the cost. Responsibilities (not limited to): 1. Conducting AI-based/physics-based modeling for optical link systems, building digital twins of optical modules, and optimizing the link performances using the models; 2. Leveraging AI for engineering solutions in optical modules, including AI-powered manufacturing automation, AI-assisted lens coupling, AI-assisted defect detection, and parameter auto-tuning for high-speed modules (800G/1.6T); 3. Identifying and theorizing causes of performance degradation in optical links, analyzing physical mechanisms, and assessing their impact on modules (e.g. laser optical feedback, fiber multipath interference, connector wiggle, etc.); 4. Head of X-Product Group at Innolight (this X-product will probably be released next year, please stay tuned) 5. Leading and fostering team growth as a dedicated Team Leader.
