I have worked for antitubercular agents during my post graduation which was found to be interesting molecules for antitubercular activity and has been further taken up for detailed research during Ph. D. research work. Some compounds were found to have MIC value in the range of 1-2 µg/mL and are under further investigation. During my Ph D research work, a series of thiazole derivatives has been designed by indirect type of molecular modeling studies based on its 3D structural similarity with Linezolid, a novel potent antimycobacterial agent and based on prior art available regarding the molecule. A detailed QSAR study has been carried out by Genetic Function Approximation (GFA) technique using various molecular descriptors for antitubercular activity. All synthesized compounds were also screened for their antiproliferative potential against lung and breast cancer cell lines. The most active compounds were further screened for their inhibitory potential against CDK2/Cyclin E and A with good higher selectivity towards the Cyclin E compared most advanced clinical candidate. This research is being pursued for Indian patent currently. I have worked for about 2 years in the area of CNS therapeutics and specifically worked on design and synthesis of some serotonin receptor ligands. Various molecules synthesized are at various stages of clinical trials at present. Some of the early findings about the effect and utility of 5-HT6 antagonists for the treatment of obesity were published by our research group at Suven. For the last two years have been working in the area of cognition through the H3 receptor modulation approach and work on set of druggable molecule. This research worked is result of collaborative effort between Oxygen Healthcare Research Pvt. Ltd. and funding support from Department of Biotechnology, India. Apart from this I have been associated with various medicinal chemistry based research projects for the US and European Clients during last 5 years. Specialties: Medicinal Chemistry
