Kashmir Sentinel is a fortnightly journal published from Jammu and focuses on humanitarian and other socio-political aspects of the Kashmir issue. It is the largest circulated periodicals, that is often referred and quoted by serious media persons and think tanks on Jammu and Kashmir.

During this period, I along with my team completed a detailed Human Ecological Appraisal of Jhamarkotra Rock Phosphate Mines of RSMML in Udaipur and also developed micro-plans for social - ecological restoration of the mine affected area of 7000 hectares, 1000 households in 12 villages comprising 3 micro-watersheds around Jhamarkotra inhabited by more than 90% Mina Tribals. I worked as a Development Consultant with PARIVAR Network, an association of six voluntary agencies working in various development blocks of Udaipur District. Remained associated with their Community Health and Family Welfare Programme and edited and compiled the report ‘One Step Ahead’ for them. I did an extensive study of SEVA MANDlR’s Water Harvesting Projects, besides being a consultant with the Peoples’ Management School of the Organisation.

* I worked as a Development Associate with Professional Assistance in Development Action (PRADAN), Delhi from Sept 1988 to June 1989. During this period I was associated with the following organisations on their various projects, for brief spells : Association of Serva Seva Farms (ASSEFA) at Madurai * Mysore Rehabilitation and Development Agency (MYRADA) at Bangalore * Seva Mandir, Udaipur (Rajasthan) * Pilot Project for Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India, at Alwar (Rajasthan) * Central Himalayan Rural Action Group (CHIRAG) Sitla, Nainital and SUTRA (Social Uplift Through Rural Action), Jagjit Nagar,Solan (HP).

Associated with PANUN KASHMIR FOUNDATION as founder trustee. In 1992-93, I documented and compiled the Report on Human Rights situation in J&K. Working in close collaboration with Relief Agencies for relief and rehabilitation of Kashmiri refugees and created database and rehabilitation programmes. Invited to USA by a US based human rights Organisation to talk to the American Senators, students, intelligentsia and Press on human rights situation in J&K State in 1993. I visited UK in 1995 to talk on the human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir; addressed students, intellectuals, teachers and members of the House of Commons, besides participating in seminars etc. on the subject.

I am involved in setting up developmental, educational and social organizations and assisting in planning, management, fund-raising and process documentation of ongoing projects / programmes / institutions. I also create database and perspective project planning for the Institutions and oganisations affiliated and associated with Jagriti Mission. I specialize in Trainings, Process Documentation and Action Research. In educational research and development, we evolve the course content, augment teaching methodology and train teachers. Our approach is based on participatory processes and psycho-analytical paradigm. Weekly workshops and classroom analysis are a cogent content of our entire experimentation.

I always scored a first division in my academic career and won merrit scholarship in the College and at the University. Activities and Societies: I actively participated in the Student Forums, Youth Clubs, besides being an active Sports person representing the college and the department in Debates, Symposia, Cricket, Table Tennis and Chess. I remained a Chess champion at the Inter College level. I won the Inter University Literary Contest at Punjab University Chandigarh in 1982, held to commemorate Dostoevsky’s Centenary year.
