Key Responsibilities 1. Quality Planning & Documentation Prepare and review QAP (Quality Assurance Plan), ITP (Inspection & Test Plan), checklists, and method statements. Ensure all materials comply with approved submittals, BOQ, and technical data sheets. Maintain quality records: MIR, WIR, IR, test reports, and as-built documentation. 2. Material Inspection Inspect incoming HVAC materials: Duct sheets, insulation, dampers, VCDs AHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV units Valves, diffusers, grilles, flexible ducts Verify make, model, thickness, GI coating, fire rating, and insulation density. Approve or reject materials based on specifications. 3. Installation Quality Control Monitor HVAC installation activities: Duct fabrication & erection Insulation works (thermal & acoustic) Equipment installation (AHU, FCU, VRF, exhaust fans) CHW / refrigerant piping supports & routing Ensure installation as per approved shop drawings and method statements. Check proper alignment, leveling, supports, and clearances. 4. Standards & Compliance Ensure compliance with: ASHRAE / ISHRAE SMACNA ducting standards NBC & local fire norms Project-specific quality requirements Identify non-conformances and issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports). 5. Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB) Witness and verify: Duct leakage tests Airflow measurements Pressure testing of piping Vacuuming & refrigerant charging Ensure proper air balancing and performance testing. 6. Coordination & Reporting Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, QA/QC team, and contractors. Attend quality meetings and inspections with clients/consultants. Prepare daily / weekly quality reports. Close NCRs with proper corrective and preventive actions. 7. Commissioning & Handover Support HVAC pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. Ensure proper slope, jointing, insulation, and pressure testing of pipelines 📑 4. Documentation & Coordination Maintain daily site progress reports (DPR). Coordinate with consultants, contractors, client, and architects. Attend site meetings and update project status. Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals. Ensure installation as per ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NEC, NBC, SMACNA, IPC codes. 🛠 5. Quality Control & Safety Ensure all works follow project specifications & quality requirements.
